Good Sound Advice

I got this from a lawyer that sent it to all his employees. I have used this advice for years.

(1)Do not sign the back of credit cards. Instead, put "PHOTO ID REQUIRED"

(2)When writing checks to pay on your credit card account, DO NOT put the complete account number on the "FOR" line. Instead just put the last four numbers. I've been doing this for years, the credit card company or who ever the account is for, lights, phone, already know your account number but anyone who might handle your check as it passes through the check processing channels won't have access to it.

(3)Put your work phone # on your checks instead of your home phone. If you have a PO BOX use that instead of your home address. If you don't have a PO BOX, use your work address if thats possible. And everyone knows not to ever have your SS# printed on checks.But if you have to have it printed on there just remember anyone can get it.

(4) Photocopy all the contents of your wallet. Do both sides of all your cards,license,credit cards,etc. You will have all the account numbers and phone numbers in the event your wallet gets lost or stolen. We all have heard the horror stories about "FRAUD" committed on us in stealing a name, address, Social Security number, credit cards.
