Disaster And The American Red Cross

Everyone knows that when a disaster hits the American Red Cross is there to help the survivors with there basic needs such as water, food, clothes, etc.

Each year, the American Red Cross responds immediately to give relief for fires, hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, tornadoes, hazardous materials spills, transportation accidents, and explosions.

The American Red Cross was chartered in 1905 by Congress to carry on a system of national and international relief in time of peace and apply the same in mitigating the sufferings caused by pestilence, famine, fire, floods, and other great national calamities.

In addition to these services, the core of Red Cross relief is the assistance given to individuals and families to enable them to resume their normal daily activities independently.

They also feed emergency workers, handle inquiries from concerned family members outside the area, and provides blood to victims, and helps those affected to access other available resources.
